5 January Signings who could push Liverpool to Premier League glory
4) Pascal Gross
While the majority of Liverpool fans would be eyeing defensive cover during this transfer window, others feel that their side is lacking a little bit of spark in the middle of the park at times. We mean, if you’re lining up with both Jordan Henderson and James Milner as two of your three midfield players, it’s not always going to make for the most dynamic of midfield performances.
One such player who could maybe add a little spark to the Liverpool midfield, however, is Brighton’s Pascal Gross. And if The Metro is to be believed, Jurgen Klopp and the Anfield brass are weighing up making a move for the German playmaker.
Gross was in inspired form last season for Chris Hughton’s Brighton, but this year he’s been troubled by injury at times. Still, the 27-year-old midfielder is easily one of the Seagull’s star men. Similarly, he’s also one of their most valuable.
With funds tight at Brighton, it could be that the club would be open to selling the player in order to raise funds to help their own build to stay in the Premier League for a third season. Given how they’ve often managed to play well with Gross injured and out of the team this season, it may be that an offer in the region of £20 million might be too hard to turn down.
