As alluded to elsewhere in this piece, Liverpool are in desperate need to bring in some defensive cover as they look to maintain their position at the top of the Premier League.

One defender who has massively impressed in the EPL this season has been former Reds player Conor Coady. As captain of Wolves, Coady has played a huge part in the Molineux side having such a great start upon their return to the Premier League. But could those impressive performances have put Coady in the crosshairs of certain other Premier League clubs? If reports are to be believed, yes.

Currently, it’s believed that Wolves are desperately trying to get their captain to agree to a new deal amidst interest from Arsenal. And while the Gunners are showing the strongest interest in Coady, another club sniffing around him are Liverpool.

Born in Liverpool, a Liverpool supporter, a Liverpool youth player, and even a member of the Liverpool first-team squad at one point, there’s a whole lot of reasons why Conor Coady may view an Anfield return as a more appealing proposition than a move to Arsenal.

Wolves are ready to make Coady one of their top earners, but even a huge contract offer may not be enough to keep the England hopeful at Molineux should his hometown club come a-calling.
