Steven Gerrard is Unveiled as the New Manager at Rangers
Steven Gerrard is unveiled as the new manager at Rangers.

The Scottish Premiership side, Rangers FC, have appointed former Liverpool captain, Steven Gerrard as their new manager. He will be joined by the former Scottish international, Gary McAllister as his assistant manager at the Ibrox stadium.

Gerrard previously worked with Liverpool's Under 18 team as a youth manager but he will soon begin his first senior managerial role on June 1.

Rangers are the most successful Scottish side, with 54 league titles, however, they have failed to win any since their administration in 2012. The Light Blues are sitting third on the points table and are 13 points behind the champions, Celtic.

The Reds' legend vowed to strengthen the existing Rangers squad and here is the list of five Liverpool youngsters who can join him on loan at the Ibrox stadium.

#5 Ryan Kent

Tranmere Rovers v Liverpool - Pre-Season Friendly
Ryan Kent

Oldham-born Ryan Kent has been a part of Liverpool's youth academy since the age of seven and is one of the most exciting talents to emerge from the famous Melwood academy.

Quick, direct, ambidextrous, Kent has just about everything needed to succeed in English football. His game often involves playing one-touch passes, beating his marker with his dribbling skills to open up spaces and sending in crosses from out wide.

He enjoyed successful loan-spells at Coventry City, Barnsley, SC Freiburg and Bristol City during the past few seasons and also featured in a number of Cup games for Liverpool. He won the Barnsley Young Player of the Season in 2017 and featured for England's national team on the youth levels.

Despite having everything in his locker to succeed as a professional footballer, Ryan Kent needs to work on his end-product to take his game to the next level and playing under Steven Gerrard can improve that aspect of his game.

#4 Rhian Brewster

Sydney FC v Liverpool FC
Rhian Brewster won Golden Boot at the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2017.

The Golden Boot winner of the FIFA Under 17 World Cup 2017, Rhain Brewster struggled with injuries this season and is yet to make an appearance for Liverpool's senior team.

The 18-year-old is a versatile forward capable of playing anywhere across the front line. He unlocks opposing defences with his electrifying pace and is clinical in front of the goal.

Liverpool are packed with attacking options and the England youth international might need to wait a few more years to get his opportunities. Hence, a loan move elsewhere would make perfect sense for him to continue his remarkable progress.

With Kenny Miller likely to retire at the end of this season and Eduardo Herrera not being in good form, Rangers will be in the market for a new attacker and Rhian Brewster is an interesting option whom Gerrard can consider signing.

#3 Ovie Ejaria

International Champions Cup 2016 - Chelsea v Liverpool
Ovie Ejaria was hailed as the English Pogba.

Ovie Ejaria was called 'The English Pogba' when he first impressed during Liverpool's pre-season in 2016.

Primarily playing as the central-midfielder, Ejaria likes to run the tempo of the game and is blessed with great technique and enviable touch. He is clinical in front of goal and is also capable of scoring from distance.

Ejaria is currently on loan at Championship side, Sunderland, however, he failed to help them avoid a second successive relegation. Nevertheless, the 20-year-old showed promise with his performances in the Championship and scored his first senior goal in the last game of the season against Wolves.

England's youth international needs more experience at senior level before making his way into Liverpool's first team and a move to the Scottish Premiership would provide him with the exact opportunity.

#2 Harry Wilson

SL Benfica v Liverpool FC - UEFA Youth League: Round of 16
Harry Wilson impressed on his loan at Hull City.

The youngest ever player to play for Wales, Harry Wilson always remains on the fringes at Liverpool and is unlucky to not get a chance in a Premier League game for the club.

The highly-rated winger is comfortable playing on both wings and also operates well if deployed behind the striker. His electric pace and a neat touch give him the ability to beat defenders with ease, while his set-pieces and crossing have also been valuable attributes.

Wilson is performing brilliantly on loan at Hull City this season and has scored seven goals for the club in just 13 games. He also showed the creative side of his game during his time with the Tigers and managed to register four assists to his name.

Liverpool have Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane for his position and there are reports claiming that the Reds have agreed a deal to sign Nabil Fekir from Lyon. Therefore, Wilson has to move elsewhere to continue his progress, and a reunion with his former youth coach, Gerrard could be one of the most tempting offers for him.

#1 Ben Woodburn

Liverpool v Athletic Club - Pre Season Friendly
Ben Woodburn finds his first-team opportunities limited this season

Regarded as one of the biggest talents to come through the ranks of Liverpool's youth academy ever since Micheal Owen, Ben Woodburn finds his first-team opportunities limited under Jurgen Klopp this season.

The teenager was part of Liverpool's bench on a couple of occasions this season but made just one substitute appearance for the first team - in the Carabao Cup defeat at Leicester City in September.

With a remarkable eye for goal, the 18-year-old is an excellent technician. He possesses blistering pace due to which he is often compared with Gareth Bale. Woodburn is the youngest ever goalscorer for Liverpool and is also the second youngest goalscorer for the Welsh national team.

The Welsh international is a special talent but needs to feature regularly at the senior level to compete with the world's best and thus a move to Rangers would suit both parties.
