5 Managers who can replace Arsene Wenger at Arsenal

Arsenal v Manchester City - Carabao Cup Final
Arsene Wenger's position will be reviewed at the end of the season.

Wenger has been the Arsenal manager for the past 21 years and during his tenure, there have been times when many have believed that he should leave the club.

He does gives them the assurance that they have a world class manager who has plenty of experience which has helped them win 7 FA Cups and 3 Premier League titles and has also guided them to their most famous 'invincible season'.

According to reports, it has been confirmed that the Arsenal board will review his position at the end of the season. His contract expires at the end of the 2018-19 season.

Under him for the past 20 years, they have achieved a top 4 finish every time except last season. They currently sit at 6th in the league table, 27 points behind leaders Manchester City.

Arsenal had a chance for silverware this season in the Carabao Cup final, but they lost 3-0 to Manchester City.

With many top managers available, it seems like the right time for Arsenal to find someone who can rework Wenger's legacy at the Emirates.

Here we look at 5 managers who can replace the great Frenchman:

#5 Thomas Tuchel

Borussia Dortmund Celebrates Winning The DFB Cup 2017
Tuchel is tactically a very versatile manager

The Ex- Borussia Dortmund manager is a highly rated young manager and he guided Dortmund to their DFL Pokal cup win last season.

Tuchel gained his reputation as one of the finest managers after replacing Jurgen Klopp at the Signal Iduna Park. During his 2 seasons with Bundesliga with Dortmund, BVB did not face defeat on home soil.

Tuchel's style of football is about committing bodies forward, high pressing, aggressive and dynamic football. However, the strongest weapon at his disposal is his tactical versatility.

The Gunners should seriously consider hiring Tuchel as their next manager, as he is currently unemployed and considering how well he performed at Dortmund, he should be a good replacement for the Frenchman.

#4 Diego Simeone

Sevilla v Atletico Madrid - La Liga
Simone broke the Real Madrid and Barcelona duopoly in La Liga

Simone is undoubtedly one of the best managers in the world football right now. He took over Atletico Madrid in 2011 and it was under his guidance that Los Rojiblancos broke the duopoly of FC Barcelona and Real Madrid in La Liga in 2014.

He has also guided Atletico to European glory with one Europa League, one UEFA Super Cup, and 2 Champions League final appearances.

Though his style of play might not be very similar to Wenger's, if the Gunners want to win trophies and re-establish themselves as a force to reckon in with in the Premier League and Champions League, then he is their man.

Also, he has managed to build Atletico into such a great team with very little transfer funds and despite the departure of big names like Diego Costa and Radamal Falcao he has still managed to maintain their elite status in La Liga and Champions League.

#3 Maurizio Sarri

Napoli v RB Leipzig - UEFA Europa League
Maurizio Sarri has a release clause in his contract with Napoli

Though it will be tough to prise him away from Naples, in terms style of playing style, he should be the perfect replacement for Arsene Wenger.

Sarri plays an attacking style of football and his Napoli team is already at the top of the table and they have shown a remarkable amount of consistency which has helped them to mount a serious challenge for the Serie A title.

If Sarri joins Arsenal he will already have a team of superstars who have been drilled to play the type of football he likes.

According to reports, he has a release clause in his contract which allows him to discuss terms with other teams and according to his agent, Arsenal wants him as a replacement for Arsene Wenger.

#2 Luis Enrique

Deportivo Alaves vs Barcelona - Copa Del Rey Final
Enrique has rejected a move to Arsenal's rivals Chelsea.

Enrique made a name for himself when under his management FC Barcelona won the treble in 2014-15 for the first time since Guardiola quit.

The former Roma manager sets up his side that prefers attacking football and given his experience and achievements, he has the mettle to replace Arsene Wenger.

He is currently taking a sabbatical and will return to management in 2018/19 and it is believed that his preferred destination is the Premier League. According to reports, the Gunners chiefs will consider Wenger's future next season and they are surveying him as an option.

According to Don Bolan, he has rejected a move to Arsenal's rivals Chelsea and it should be a good opportunity for the Gunners to snap him up.

#1 Carlo Ancelotti

Club Atletico de Madrid v Real Madrid CF - UEFA Champions League Quarter Final: First Leg
Carlo Ancelotti has plenty of experience with top clubs.

There are very few managers who boast a CV like the Italian. He has Premier Leauge experience with Chelsea helping them win the Premier League and FA Cup. He has also won trophies with Juventus, AC Milan, PSG, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

He is also a very successful manager in Europe as well winning Champions League with Milan and Real Madrid.

Under Ancelotti, Arsenal are likely to play a 4-3-3 free-flowing fluid attacking football. His Italian roots will make sure that Arsenal builds from the back and they have a strong defence.

He is currently unemployed and living in London so it should very easy for the Gunners to sign him as well. Overall he should be a good fit for them and the legacy of Arsene Wenger will be in safe hands.
