Pepe Mel faced a lot of failures in his managerial career

Pepe Mel started his managerial career at Coslada in Spain. His first spell as a top-flight manager came in 2001 at a Spanish Club, Tenerife and was relegated. He managed second division clubs like Getafe, Alaves, and Polideportivo Ejido.

First sacking of his career came at Polideportivo Ejido. He moved to Rayo Vallecano in 2006 but was subsequently sacked in 2010. He managed Betis for three years and for the first time in his managerial career, he took a job outside of Spain. He moved to Premier League with West Bromwich Albion in 2014 but was sacked within 5 months.

He moved back to Spain but his luck did not change. His next two managerial stints ended in a sack at Betis and Deportivo La Coruna in 2016 and 2017 respectively. The Spaniard is currently unemployed.
