Cristiano Ronaldo might have left Manchester United in 2009, but there are several records that are still held by the Portuguese star. There will be no one as good as the Real Madrid star at Old Trafford and that's helped him a lot.

While Martial, Rashford and others are trying their best to get close to these records, none of them are successful. Even legends like Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Wayne Rooney and even Robin van Persie have tried to break a couple of the records but have not managed to leap ahead of Ronaldo.

Here are 5 Manchester United records that still belong to Ronaldo:

#5 Most goals in a league season for Manchester United: 31 goals

Cristiano Ronaldo loves scoring goals – that's something we all know. In the 2007–08 season, he was in such form that he scored 31 goals in the Premier League alone

The Portuguese star played 34 games that season and that was the first time a player had notched 30+ goals in a season since Alan Shearer in 1995/96 season!

The closest a Manchester United player has come to breaking the record is Robin Van Persie. He scored 16 goals in the 2012/13 season when won their 20th Premier League title.

#4 Only Manchester United player to win the Fifa Puskas Award

From scoring 31 goals to scoring blinders – Ronaldo has done it all at Manchester United. The superstar got the Puskas Award for his thunder strike vs FC Porto in Champions League quarter-final second leg on 15th April 2009.

He was the first-ever recipient of the award and has been the only one from Manchester United. The only other player from the Premier League to win it was Olivier Giroud for his scorpion kick goal vs Crystal Palace.

Wayne Rooney is the only other Manchester United star to be nominated for the Puskas award. His overhead kick vs Manchester United failed to beat Neymar's solo goal vs Flamengo.

#3 Only Manchester United player to win the European Golden Shoe

When Cristiano Ronaldo scored 31 goals in the 2007/08 season, he won the Premier League golden shoe and also the European Golden Shoe. The Manchester United star was unstoppable in that season and that was the first time he caught Real Madrid's eye.

Since then, no Manchester United player has come close to winning the Golden Shoe. Even in the Premier League, only Luis Suarez has won the Golden Shoe in recent years.

There is a lot of pressure on Romelu Lukaku to deliver next season and if he clicks, he might be the one who can challenge Ronaldo and Messi for the Golden Shoe.

#2 Most valuable sale by Manchester United: £80 million

When Manchester United sold Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid, he became the World's most expensive player. He no longer has that record to his name but he still remains Manchester United's best sale.

Since that big money sale, their best sale has been of Angel di Maria – £57 million to Paris Saint-Germain. Interestingly, that same summer was the only time they sold more than 5 players.

Paul Pogba and De Gea are the only players who will fetch more than £80 million and they are not going to leave Old Trafford any time soon.

#1 Only Manchester United player to win the Fifa World Player of the Year

Once again, a Manchester United record held by Cristiano Ronaldo is because of his 2007/08 season. The Golden Shoe and Premier League Golden Boot were 2 of the 3 individual awards he won that year.

Ronaldo picked up the FIFA World Player of the Year award as well and this is probably the only record that will never be broken. The award was merged with Ballon d'Or from 2010 to 2015 and in 2016, FIFA came up with The Best FIFA Award.

Cristiano is also the only Premier League player to win the award. Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry, Frank Lampard and Alan Shearer have made the podium but have never managed to win it.
