Another great game in the midst of perhaps one of the most incredible seasons in Premier League history.

The sides met on New Year's Day in 1996. The Spurs board had come under constant criticism for selling players like Jurgen Klinnsman and Nick Barmby despite having finished the season at 7th place. Their manager was mocked for having paid about £4.5m for striker Chris Armstrong

Manchester United had finished second in the league the previous season, losing the title to Blackburn. Their manager, Sir Alex, responded by tearing the side and introducing a host of youngsters to the side. By Christmas, they had found themselves well adrift of leaders Newcastle United, though.

There was no joy for them on New Year's Day in North London. 32,852 people witnessed Chris Armstrong and Teddy Sheringham shred Manchester United, putting four goals past their keeper. Armstrong scored a brace while Sheringham and club captain Sol Campbell scoring one apiece.

Manchester United managed one strike from Andy Cole as they were dominated on the pitch.
