This is probably the most obvious option, seeing that Gomes is the midfielder being offered to United as part of the exchange deal for Pogba. The Portuguese international has had a tough couple of years at Barcelona since his move to the Catalan giants in 2016.
He played a crucial role in helping Portugal win the European Championships two years ago, and that was what put him on the radar for a number of top clubs.
He only appeared 16 times for Barcelona in La Liga last season, but he is still an exceptionally talented player.
He keeps the ball well in midfield, and would probably make an excellent partner for either Fred or Nemanja Matic in the centre of the park. He may not have the same impact going forward, but he the reliable sort of midfielder that Jose Mourinho likes to have in his side.
