La Masia is well known for producing some of the finest young footballers in the game which has always helped Barcelona to enhance their youth teams.

The Juvenil A team is Barcelona's U-19 team and we are going to take a look at 5 of their brightest talents:

NOTE: The list doesn't include any player who features for Barca B

Honorable mentions: Sergio Gomez, Juan Miranda, Josep Calavera

#5 Ramón Rodríguez Jiménez

Ramon Rodriguez Jimenez
Monchu is having a wonderful season with Juvenil A this season

Ramón Rodríguez Jiménez, popularly known as 'Monchu', is one of the most talented La Masia players at the moment. The 18-year-old midfielder joined Barça Infantil A team in 2012 from Mallorca, and since then, he has only been on a rise.

Monchu was promoted to the Juvenil A team last year and things didn't really go well for the youngster who struggled with inconsistency, especially in the UEFA Youth League. However, things have turned remarkably well in his favour this season.

Monchu has led Barcelona's midfield from the front and played a major role in the División De Honor Juvenil, where they are placed 3rd on the Group 3 table.

He joined La Masia as a traditional deep-lying playmaker, and the 18-year-old has only evolved since then. He is capable of operating in attacking midfield as well and has an eye for the goal with his powerful shooting abilities.

#4 Riqui Puig

Riqui Puig
Riqui Puig is one of the most highly praised La Masia players right now

The 18-year-old is one of the brightest La Masia prospects and has received a lot of hype in the past couple of years. While playing for Barcelona Under-17 in the ABN AMRO Future cup finals in 2016, he won the 'Most Valuable Player' of the tournament award.

Not the tallest player on the pitch, Puig elevates the quality in midfield with his exceptional technique and intelligence which somewhat resembles Barcelona great, Andres Iniesta. He can play as a false 9 as well, and carries the ability of goalscoring too.

Puig was promoted to the Juvenil A team this season and he has already proved himself as one of the most prominent members of the team. It won't take too long for us to see the 18-year old featuring in Barça B squad.

#3 Alex Collado

Alex Collado
Alex Collado has been very impressive with his playmaking skills

Alex Collado joined Barcelona's youth team in 2011 from Espanyol and has been widely acclaimed for the performances he has delivered over the years.

Collado had a brilliant last season with Barcelona in the UEFA Youth League where they lost to RB Salzburg in semifinals. With 4 goals to his name in División De Honor Juvenil this season, Collado was recently in headlines after he scored a brace against Olympiakos in the UEFA Youth League.

Collado mainly operates as a central attacking midfielder, but is also capable of playing as a right-winger. With an extremely powerful left foot, Collado is a wonderful dribbler of the ball and excels at creating goal scoring opportunities.

#2 Iñaki Peña

Inaki Pena
The 18-year-old keeper will be hoping to play for Barcelona B next season

His heroics against Atletico Madrid in the final of Torneo Internacional Infantil Reino de León was the subject of public attention as Peña saved 6 of the 9 penalty kicks in the shootout and also scored the winning penalty which awarded the title to Barça.

Peña was only 14 back then and that was when Barcelona realized they have an exceptional talent under their belt.

Manchester United had laid their eyes on the youngster and his move to Old Trafford was heavily speculated before Barça finally promoted him to the Juvenil A team in 2015.

Peña was likely to get featured with Barça B this season after José Suárez left the B team for Girona, but the arrival of Adrián Ortolá and Jokin Ezkeita halted his promotion. He is having a wonderful season and has played all the 11 matches for the Juvenil team so far.

#1 Mateu Morey

Mateu Morey
Mateu Morey was a star player for Spain's U-17 side at the FIFA U-17 World Cup

Mateu Morey was one of Spain's best players in the UEFA U-17 Euro Championships and in the FIFA U-17 World Cup, which was played earlier this year. The 17-year-old wonderkid is considered as one of the best young right backs in the world.

It was reported that Morey was all set to leave Barcelona for Bayern Munich in June this year, but the talented full-back decided to continue at Barça, which gave some respite to the Catalan club who have lost a bunch of talented La Masia players in recent years.

Barça wouldn't let Morey walk out just like that, as the 17-year-old is arguably their best prospect right now.

With his attacking prowess, Morey is known for making ambushing runs on the right flank, but the 17-year-old is equally as good when it comes to defending.
