Newly promoted Gibraltar Phoenix only had to play a 14-game season in 2013-14, and they could count themselves lucky as their misery was at least kept to a minimum. In the games they did play, Phoenix conceded 94 goals and scored only 9 in response, failing to pick up so much as a point.

More than a third of these goals were scored by Lincoln Red Imps who put 32 past Phoenix over two games played in the same week.

It was always going to be a tough season for Phoenix, who lost a large part of their squad during the close season and were unable to source replacements from the limited pool of players on the island.

Three years later, Phoenix made their return to Gibraltar's top flight and earned their first points with a win on the opening day of the season, ensuring they would not face such a humiliation for a second time.
