Pointing to someone who has just four national team appearances and one goal to break Cristiano Ronaldo's goalscoring record in the Euros might seem a little bold. However, Ansu Fati is no ordinary talent.

The youngest scorer in the history of the Champions League looked like he would shatter the history books with his whirlwind start to the season. Fati is also the youngest goal scorer for the Spanish national team.

However, bad luck struck soon after as he got injured in November and hasn't played since. Fati is targeting 100% fitness by the time Barcelona's pre-season starts.

With Spain struggling with directness and goalscoring at Euro 2020, his presence could have transformed them into genuine contenders. Assuming he continues to progress at the level he was supposed to before his injury, Ansu Fati will have a solid chance of usurping Ronaldo's record in the future.

#2 Kylian Mbappe

The most obvious name on this list, Mbappe is typically compared with every youngster who has had a good season. In truth, Mbappe is or was one of the best young players world football has ever seen. At 22, he has been playing and progressing at an unreal level for five seasons now.

While most players his age are playing in their first major tournament at Euro 2020, Mbappe was already one of the best players in the 2018 World Cup which he won with France. Now one of the best players in the world, Mbappe will surely at least get close to Ronaldo's Euros record. He has 17 goals in 43 appearances for France at the moment.

#1 Antoine Griezmann

The oldest player on this list, Griezmann is also the active player nearest to Ronaldo in the Euros goalscoring charts He has seven goals compared to Ronaldo's 12 at the time of writing.

Six of these goals came at Euro 2016 where Griezmann was almost unplayable. He went on to become the first person to win both the Golden Boot and the Golden Ball in the same Euros since his countryman Michel Platini in 1984.

However, given that France face Portugal next and a defeat might eliminate Ronaldo's men, don't be surprised if Griezmann gets closer to breaking the Portuguese's record.

Given his fantastic fitness record, the Frenchman looks set to continue his goalscoring exploits in the next edition of the Euros as well.
