#3 Sergio Romero

Since arriving at Manchester United in the summer of 2015, Sergio Romero has never been in contention for a first-team place.

The Argentine custodian has mostly featured for the club in cup competitions during this period - only seven of his 61 Manchester United appearances have come in the Premier League.

Nevertheless, the 33-year-old has never ceased to impress in the limited opportunities on offer. Romero kept an impressive seven clean sheets in nine Europa League games for Manchester United last season.

However, David de Gea took Romero's place in the semi-final defeat to eventual champions Sevilla, leaving Romero 'unimpressed'.

With the arrival of Dean Henderson after a successful loan spell at Sheffield United, Romero has further fallen down the pecking order at Manchester United.

The out-of-favour Argentine, who is yet to appear for the club in any competition this season, could leave Manchester United in January after an exit did not materialise in the summer.

#2 Phil Jones

Phil Jones, one of the last vestiges of the Sir Alex Ferguson era at Manchester United, could be out of the club in January.

The 28-year-old centre-back made only eight appearances for Manchester United last season as he has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

After being left out of Manchester United's squads for the Premier League and Champions League this season, Jones' time at Old Trafford may have come to an end.

Jones has been linked with a move to the Championship in January, as Derby County and Middlesbrough are reportedly interested in his services. With age on his side, the centre-back could still resurrect his playing career elsewhere by leaving Manchester United.

#1 Odion Ighalo

Odion Ighalo arrived at Manchester United on a loan spell from Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua in January.

With the 31-year-old Nigerian striker scoring in his first four starts for Manchester United, the club extended his loan stint by another six months.

However, Ighalo's form has nosedived since his heady start. He failed to find the back of the net for Manchester United in 11 Premier League games last season.

With Ighalo largely being a peripheral presence at the club this season, not managing to score in four games in all competitions, Ighalo looks all set to depart Manchester United in January.
