#3 Reiss Nelson

Reiss Nelson came through the Arsenal academy and made his first-team debut in September 2017.

Big things were expected of him, but his progress has been somewhat unspectacular and he has struggled for regular playing time due to the higher profile forwards currently on the books.

A one-year loan spell was undertaken at Hoffenheim in the 2018-2019 season to gain the requisite experience but despite performing admirably in Germany, Nelson has still failed to make a mark at Arsenal.

So far, he has made just 47 appearances in all competitions in the last four years and with the rising profile of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, there might be no future for Nelson at the Emirates.

#2 Sead Kolasinac

Sead Kolasinac joined Arsenal from Schalke 04 in the summer of 2017 and quickly became a mainstay on the left flank of the Gunners' defense.

However, the Bosnia and Herzegovina international was limited in his contributions and the arrival and instant impact of Kieran Tierney put him out of reckoning.

A loan return to Schalke 04 was agreed in December 2020 but the 27-year-old has failed to stop the Bundesliga club's slide towards certain relegation.

It remains to be seen what the next step will be in Kolasinac's Arsenal career but the club could well make him available for a transfer in the summer.

#1 Matteo Guendouzi

Guendouzi's clash with Maupay spelt his doom at Arsenal

Matteo Guendouzi is the perfect example of a player who was destined for greatness losing his way due to a poor temperament.

Guendouzi won many admirers for his never-say-die attitude and commitment to the Arsenal cause, with many pinning him down as a future club captain.

However, the France Under-21 international seemingly lived his life off the field the same way he did on it and was involved in several scuffles with teammates and members of the coaching staff.

The first such high-profile incident came during the club's training tour in Dubai, where Guendouzi reportedly had a fallout with manager Mikel Arteta and was dropped from the squad for a number of games.

The proverbial straw that broke the camel's back came in the first game post-lockdown where Arsenal lost to Brighton and Hove Albion in June 2020.

Guendouzi had an on-field clash with Neal Maupay and despite being prodded to apologize for his disreputable actions, he vehemently refused to do so.

That was the last time he was seen in an Arsenal shirt prior to his loan transfer to Hertha Berlin and by all indications, he will not be returning to north London.
