This season, if Liverpool's attack has been a Ferrari, then their midfield has been a Ford and their defensive-four a totally scrapped car. Rightly then, their goalkeeping has been nothing more than a plastic toy car.
It would not be unfair to say that of all the goals conceded by Liverpool this season, their goalkeepers were directly accountable for at least half of them. Such has been the catastrophic display between the sticks that a recruitment there appears to be nothing but just a matter of time.
Time and time again, Simon Mignolet has disappointed the team with his performances. His nervousness coming off the lines, his distribution of the ball, his positioning have been utterly questionable.
Klopp is facing a similar problem to that of Pep Guardiola's, last year. Consequently, Pep went onto make Ederson the most expensive goalkeeper in football. Nothing different should come from the Reds this summer.
Liverpool would be desperate for the summer to arrive so that they can mend their goalkeeping woes and part ways with Mignolet.
