Mourinho was the first man to take on Casillas at the Bernabeu

This is one of the most controversial of all the fallouts from Mourinho’s career. Casillas was the darling of the Bernabeu, and he was probably the most popular member of that squad, even with Cristiano Ronaldo at the club.

However, the Portuguese manager was the first man to take on Casillas, and it caused not only a rift between him and the rest of the squad but with the supporters as well.

Mourinho froze Casillas out of the side during the latter stages of his time at the Bernabeu and picked Diego Lopez ahead of him in the starting XI. Casillas played more under Carlo Ancelotti during the final season of his time in LaLiga but left the club in 2015 to join Porto.

Under Mourinho though, his treatment caused so many problems at the club, with both Sergio Ramos and Pepe falling out with the manager as a result.
