5 Premier League stars that can make Real Madrid a better team

Real Madrid v Tottenham Hotspur - UEFA Champions League
La Liga & European champions, Real have not started the season as expected

When the season took off, Real Madrid seemed capable of replicating the scintillating form from last season.

It was doubtful that anyone could have thought of seeing them in the position they currently occupy - in third place and five points behind league leaders & arch-rivals Barcelona.

In theory, Barcelona has a squad that appears weaker compared to Los Merengues but the story on the pitch has been completely different.

Although Zidane has backed his team to regain their usual swagger, the French mastermind needs to give a thought to potential reinforcements that can help Madrid achieve their goals.

Should he turn his eyes to the Premier League, here are five talents that can certainly help Los Blancos up the ante and provide fierce competition for the Blaugrana.

#5 Hector Bellerin

Arsenal FC v 1. FC Koeln - UEFA Europa League
Bellerin will be a perfect replacement for the injured Dani Carvajal

Arsenal's Bellerin is one of the Premier League players capable of improving Madrid's defensive frailties. Since the start of the season, only captain Sergio Ramos has constantly featured in all games for the Los Merengues.

With 25-year-old Dani Carvajal out of the scene due to a heart condition, there is a need for an adequate replacement as 18-year old Achraf Hakimi is still too young for the pressure of being Real's first choice right back.

Carvajal might be declared fit to play, but his fitness cannot be guaranteed given the problem he is currently facing. Hence, Zidane needs a strong option to replace him.

Bellerin is an ex-La Masia graduate who left for Arsenal in 2011 after failing to make the cut at the Nou Camp.

The 22-year-old has become a pivotal player at the Emirates and his pace and defensive abilities will be a welcome addition.

Barcelona were said to be keen on their ex-youngster, but Nelson Semedo's arrival has given Real leeway to chase one of the best talents in the Premier League

#4 Kevin De Bruyne

Manchester City v SSC Napoli - UEFA Champions League
De Bruyne has had a flying start to the season at the Etihad

Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is having the time of his life in the sky-blue Manchester City shirt. With Pep Guardiola's men starting the season like a house on fire, the 26-year-old has been central for the Citizens.

Real Madrid were quick to extend Isco's contract to fend off interest from a host of big clubs and while there is no doubting the Spaniard's quality, De Bruyne is already a better player.

The Belgian's arrival could prove to be the ingredient required for Los Blancos to gain momentum in the title race.

The Belgian has created 30 chances to Isco's 18. He has 6 assists in comparison to Isco's 2 and also has a better passing average of 58.44 to the Spaniard's 48.88 passes per game.

No doubt Guardiola will resist all attempts by Real to get his star man but the allure of the Santiago Bernabeu can certainly help Zidane poach the talented Belgian.

#3 Eden Hazard

Hazard can see out Madrid's worries regarding Gareth Bale

The Gareth Bale situation has started taking its toll as the Welshman finding it difficult to meet the standards expected at Real Madrid.

Florentino Perez is said to be keen on replacing him with a new marquee signing.

Chelsea's Eden Hazard is touted as the man to take over from Bale. The Welshman has been constantly affected by injuries which have seen him fall down the pecking order under Zinedine Zidane.

Should Hazard come to the Bernabeu, the Belgian will certainly be a fitter option to the injury-prone Bale.

In comparison to Bale, Hazard is more creative and will engineer loads of chances for his teammates. That quality will help Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema notch up a greater number of goals for the club.

Although Bale started this season in a better fashion than Hazard who was injured, the Welsh superstar has already fallen into his usual play-and-get-injured pattern.

With his undoubted quality and already stated desire to don the white jersey, Hazard would certainly be a better man to take up the mantle on the right flank at the Bernabeu.

#2 Sergio Aguero

Aguero will transform Real Madrid into a fearsome attacking team.
Aguero will transform Real Madrid into a fearsome attacking team.

It is no secret that Real Madrid fans have dreamed of Sergio Aguero playing for them in recent years. However, the Argentine has repeatedly fended off interest from the Los Blancos and Barcelona to stay put at the Etihad.

Some might view Harry Kane as the better option considering his red-hot form for the past three years.

However, Aguero outclasses Kane in terms of experience. The Manchester City striker has played in La Liga and will be an instant fit while Kane might need time to adjust to the league.

Real Madrid may have extended Karim Benzema's contract, but they have been looking for a better striker to lead them upfront.

No doubt Aguero is a shade more skilful than the Frenchman who has endured tough times this season.

Sergio Aguero has been in fine form this season becoming the joint all-time top scorer for Manchester City.

Needless to say, Real Madrid's frontline will become extremely fearsome should they convince Sergio Aguero to make the switch.

#1 David De Gea

Real Madrid has been chasing Big Dave for a while now but consistently failed attempts have led them to carry on with Keylor Navas between the posts.

While Navas is a great goalkeeper, things will certainly be different when you have a player who has been earning favourable comparisons with the best in the business.

De Gea is a shot-stopper on par with Bayern's Manuel Neuer and in Manchester United's resurgence under Mourinho, he has been the centrepiece of a tight defence.

Considering the conditions at the Bernabeu, de Gea's arrival has become probably the most important need for Zinedine Zidane. His arrival will surely shore up the defensive record that has cost Real points in the league.
