#4 Mediocre midfield
The trio of Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana and Georginio Wijnaldum might have had their moments last season, but were rendered ineffective against teams that found out their weaknesses – which is a lack of bite.
The usage of Emre Can has been phenomenally underwhelming as the German now seems to be on his way out of Liverpool. Add to that the fact their creative hub from midfield, Adam Lallana, is facing an injury layoff that keeps him out for most of the beginning of the season, the quagmire just gets worse.
Jurgen Klopp targeted Naby Keita to solve the midfield conundrum, but it seems as though the runners-up of last year’s Bundesliga are not going to sell their star man – even if he is unhappy at the club. So far, it doesn’t feel like they are looking for alternatives, which makes it all the more worse.
