#3 Heavy metal
Jurgen Klopp once said that he prefers gung-ho approach that resonates the very ethos of heavy metal in his team’s style of play. At the beginning of last season, it felt as though Liverpool were running away with the league title. Klopp’s men played some fascinating all-guns-blazing football and raged forward like a raging bull.
But then the toll of playing in such a high-octane style took the juice out of the players and Klopp’s heavy metal sounded more like country music adorned with crappy lyrics. By the turn of the year, the players seemed burned out and there wasn’t sufficient depth to carry out the style that Klopp likes.
Given that the Reds haven’t really signed players that would have increased their strength in depth, they are going to face a similar fate this season. They will blaze like a matchstick that just caught fire, but then extinguish the moment a gust of wind blows over.
