In his first season with the club, Mauricio Pochettino oversaw Spurs to a fifth-place finish in the Premier League. In his second season, the Lilywhites were mainly the only challengers to surprising league-leaders, Leicester City, for most of the season, but saw a late-season implosion to finish third behind Arsenal and eventual champions, Leicester City.

And last season, which was the former Argentina international’s third with the Londoners, Tottenham Hotspur finished second – which was their best ever in terms of points accumulated. So, if the law of improvement is taken under consideration, then there is a good chance that Spurs will win the league to complete their all-round improvement under Mauricio Pochettino.

From fifth to first, it would not be a bad title for a movie, would it?!
