5 reasons why Harry Kane should join Real Madrid

Harry Kane could become a galactico one day

Seldom does a football land at the feet of Harry Kane and not find its sorry self, languishing at the back of the net. Ever since he burst onto the football scene back in the 2014-15 season, scoring 21 goals in the Premier League at a tender age of 21, Kane's on-field heroics and stature has grown by leaps and bounds.

Harry Kane has no shortage of savoir-faire, adept at scoring with both feet combined with his bonafide aerial threat, and one starts to comprehend how this man has banged in 99 Premier League goals in only 136 appearances.

This season, Kane has plundered 30 goals and 3 assists in only 30 appearances in all competitions. Needless to say, such searing form has attracted the attention of the big boys over at Real Madrid.

Rumors have been in circulation for some time linking Kane in £200 million blockbuster move to the Bernabéu.

Whether the move will materialize in the end is a matter for another day, here we take a look at 5 reasons why, if presented with the chance, Harry Kane should choose to move to Real Madrid:

#5 Legacy

Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League
Kane could arguably add to his growing reputation and legacy at Madrid.

There's no denying the fact that Harry Kane is head over heels in love with his boyhood club Tottenham. You'd forgive him for aspiring to be a one-club legend, devoting the best years of his career in service to the club he holds in great adoration.

If he were to choose to go down this path, one could hardly argue the irrefutable legacy that he would leave behind given the rarity of one club players in this day and age.

However, I would contend that if he were to move to Madrid, he would be presented the opportunity to play in a different league, with a new style of play and of course with new teammates. He would be presented the chance to showcase his talent and ability on a new and arguably bigger stage.

If anything, if he were to be a success in La Liga and there's little doubt that he would, it would only serve to enhance his legacy and further highlight his mark on the game as it would demonstrate his ability to flourish in a completely untested, unproven environment and backdrop.

#4 Better payday

Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham United - Premier League
Kane could rake in a significantly higher salary at Real Madrid.

Harry Kane signed a contract back in 2016 tying him down to Tottenham till 2022, which sees him earn £120,000 every week. With all due respect to Tottenham, but, by the current industry standards, that is a subpar figure.

To put it into perspective, Cristiano Ronaldo earns a staggering £365,000 a week at Real Madrid and Lionel Messi reportedly earns an astonishing £500,000 a week at Barcelona and Harry Kane outscored both of them in 2017!

Not to say that Kane is motivated by money, but there's no denying that money is an ever-present power and motivator in today's game. If Kane were to move to Real, he could see his salary double at the very least if not more. Such a substantial sum of money could possibly allow for a change of mind on Kane's behalf.

#3 Enhanced experience and exposure

Real Madrid v Tottenham Hotspur - UEFA Champions League
Kane would be exposed to world-class talent and new trials at Real Madrid

Harry Kane has accomplished much and done aplenty at Tottenham, despite only being 24 years old. In spite of this, I would argue that he would be instantly exposed to a higher and greater standard of football if he were to swap clubs with Madrid.

Kane would have the regular opportunity to feature and possibly win the UEFA Champions League and the league, whereas Tottenham (with respect) seem unable to do so momentarily.

Furthermore, playing for Madrid would expose Kane to new competitions such as the Copa del Rey and possibly, even the Supercopa de España and the Club World Cup. In addition to this, he would get to experience the indescribable phenomenon that is El Clasico.

Coupled with the above, Kane would also get to ply his trade alongside some of the best players in the footballing world; the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Sergio Ramos and Marcelo would become his teammates, and nobody can argue with the fact that playing alongside top-notch talent would surely serve to escalate one's drive to improve and work harder at their own game.

In short, with all that invaluable exposure and experience, there can hardly be any doubt that Kane would only mould into a better version of his current self.

#2 Chance to lead by example

Tottenham Hotspur v AFC Wimbledon - The Emirates FA Cup Third Round
Harry Kane would arguably play the lead role at Madrid in the future if not already.

If Kane ever were to set foot in Madrid in a Los Merengues shirt, it'll mostly be so that he can come into the team and score goals. Plenty of goals.

Harry Kane can execute that task with a aplomb. Ideally, he would be brought in as a replacement for Karim Benzema in the No 9 role, with Ronaldo and Bale on either side of him. His primary duty would be to bang in the goals, given that this Real side is severely lacking that at the moment.

Kane would have the chance to lead the team by example, help raise their game and secure good results with his prodigious feats on the pitch, just as Ronaldo has been doing for so many years at Madrid.

Now with CR7's powers have seemingly begun to (understandably) wane, that mantle would be placed on Kane's shoulders, and he comes across as the sort of player who relishes the task of being a team's protagonist, which he probably will go on to be.

Even though he is the go-to man at Tottenham, the responsibility would be much higher at Real Madrid and it's difficult to not see him thrive in such a role, and who's to say that he cannot go on to brandish the captain's armband in due time?

#1 Trophies. Trophies. Trophies

Hull City v Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League
There is probably a greater chance for Kane to secure trophies and even individual accolades at Madrid,

Upon inquiry, several players will say that the genuine and possibly greatest hallmark of one's career is trophies. As many of them as possible.

Money, big clubs, top managers, and experience are all legitimate motivators in football but the most powerful incentive for any player (arguably) is the chance to win silverware. Over the last four years, Real Madrid have amassed a massive haul of 12 trophies, whereas, over the same time period, Tottenham (respectfully) have secured none.

Kane has previously stated his intent for winning trophies and there is certainly time and talent to ensure that he could win some at Tottenham, however, there is a case to be made that he could win much more at Real Madrid with the arsenal of talent and finances available at their disposal.

If Kane were to contemplate a move to Spain, this would arguably be the most probable and convincing reason for him to pursue it.
