Tottenham Hotspur gave early signs of Manchester United's problems this season
United started the season with a nervous win against Leicester City at home, but lost the next two games - away to Brighton and at home to Tottenham. It was a slathering assessment of the gaps present in Mourinho's team and also a sign of things to come.

Since then, Manchester United have failed to win more than two games on a row in the league. They have scored 29 goals, while also conceding 29! They have slipped down on the table and only a miracle can secure a top 4 spot right now. However, it was the fact that there were no signs of improvements with each passing game that made matters worse.
Mourinho has always been bullish in the wake of criticism and it was also evident during this season. He made silly mistakes and refused to learn from them. He made team selections based on his opinion of players, rather than their forms and abilities.

There were only a handful of games this season when Manchester United actually looked like a United team of the old and it was clear that United were already out of the title race. After the loss at Anfield, Manchester United are 19 points off the top spot, the same gap by which City won the league last season.
They are 11 points off the coveted 4th place. There are still 19 games left in the league!
United have already lost 5 games in the league so far, and Mourinho just could not be trusted anymore. Manchester United, thus, did the correct thing and parted ways with the Portuguese.

Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.
Deepungsu has been a Manchester United supporter since the year 2000. Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Like the fiery Scot, Deepungsu also leaves no stone unturned when it comes to accuracy in articles and only relies on credible sources.
Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
