4) Winning the league at Old Trafford

“It’s Freddy Ljungberg again, pushed out by Barthez, WILTORD”. The famous commentary by Martin Tyler coincided with pure elation from Arsenal fans across England, as they took a 1-0 lead at Old Trafford and a step closer to the Premier League title.
Even without Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, captain Tony Adams and Robert Pires, Arsenal were still able to beat United away from home. They only needed a draw to win the title, but they went one better and secured the victory. This was a time when Arsenal and United had a fierce rivalry and they were both the two top teams in England, something that looks unlikely to return any time soon.
To make things feel even better for the Gunners, they were about to clinch the title in the Champions’ backyard, a team who they had finished second to just a season beforehand. This was certainly a moment Arsenal would like to re-live, a time when Wenger had built a magnificent squad.
