West Ham United v Manchester United - Premier League
With this 3-1 loss, Manchester United are in 10th place with 10 points from 7 games

Manchester United faced off against West Ham on Matchday 7 of the Premier League following their Carabao Cup defeat against Derby County. The drama surrounding Mourinho and Pogba in the past week translated on-field as well.

Mourinho started his side in a defensive 5-3-2 formation, with Scott McTominay playing out of position in defence. Fellaini, Matic, and Pogba formed the three man midfield, with two forwards in Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial.

Mark Noble and Pablo Zabaleta combined well in the early minutes, with Felipe Anderson scoring to give West Ham a lead in the 5th minute.

Once United went behind, there was not enough intent in their body language to go out and get the equaliser. Just before half time, The Hammers doubled their lead from a Yarmolenko shot deflected off Lindelof.

In the second half, Mourinho brought on Rashford and Fred in place of Lindelof and Pogba. Rashford scored in the 71st minute from a Luke Shaw assist to pull one back for United. But any chance of a comeback was over when Arnautovic scored just 3 minutes later from a Mark Noble assist.

With this 3-1 loss, Manchester United are in 10th place with 10 points from 7 games. United will look to put their off field issues aside as they now prepare to face Valencia in the Champions League on Matchday 2.
