Manchester United head to the game against Shaktar after suffering 2 straight defeats in the Premier League at the hands of Everton and Newcastle United. Here are 5 things we can expect during the game.

The attacking partnership of RvP and Rooney: Manchester United have been given a huge boost with the return of RVP. The striker missed the last couple of games with a groin injury but was back in action for the 1-0 defeat against Newcastle United. Rooney on the other hand has been ever present for United in the Champions League this term and was a key player in the 5-0 thumping of Bayer Leverkusen, going on to set up 3 of his sides 5 goals. The attacking duo will be paired together after a long time today and are bound to go on a rampage against their Ukrainian counterparts. The pair are hungry for a win after suffering 2 loses and will give the Shaktar defenders hell. The scoreline will not be a draw for sure.

Home advantage for United: The saying ‘There’s no place like home” will be justified today. United always feel at ease at Old Trafford which will work in their favor today. The Red Devils have already reach the Round of 16 and the fans will be keen to see their team finish the job and top their group.

Rotation of the midfield: David Moyes has been constantly rotating the midfield this season in order to find a strong combination. The Scot got it right against Arsenal with Carrick and Jones completely shutting down Arsenal’s midfield but will have to do without Carrick who is injured. Jones will most likely be United’s midfield enforcer once again and be partnered with either Cleverley or Kagawa. Giggs and Fellani may make it to the substitutes bench. Januzaj put in a lively performance in both the recent Premier League game and should be included in the starting line up today.

Changes in defense: The defense has also undergone some changes under David Moyes. Ferdinand continues to be involved in fewer and fewer games but may be given a starting role today. Rafael is an integral part of the attack and defense and the speedy right back should regain his place in the team. Alexander Buttner may play as left-back today and give Evra, who has been poor in recent games, some much needed rest.

A strong performance from David De Gea: The young Spaniard has been one of the most consistent players this season. De Gea has kept clean sheets in his last 3 games in the Champions League and is sure to keep up his fine form. The 23-year-old has been let down by his defense this season but has been excellent when called upon and will definitely become one of the best in his position in a few years. Shaktar will find it tough to get past the Spanish international.

Manchester United have a lot to prove this season and a win will give the fans something to cheer about. The Red Devils will certainly come out fighting tomorrow.
