Kaka never came out Ronaldo's shadows at Real Madrid

The last player to win the Ballon d'Or before the Cristiano-Messi duopoly started, Ricardo Kaka, or simply Kaka was one of the greatest players of his time.

Kaka made his professional debut for Sao Paulo on 1 February 2001. The attacking midfielder spent three years with them and scored 23 goals.

His tremendous performance for Sao Paulo attracted interests from European clubs and he eventually joined AC Milan.

Kaka enjoyed successful seasons at AC Milan, where he became their lynchpin. The Brazilian attacker enthralled the audience with his incredible, creative movements.

In 2009, Real Madrid bought him for €68.5 million from the Italian side. However, it did not work the way intended.

Injuries ravaged him throughout his Real Madrid career. He was inconsistent. He had stop-start campaigns at Real Madrid.

His dribbling abilities slowly declined. He was not the same Kaka, who was a creative attacking midfielder. His ability to bedaze the audience with the mesmerizing moves slowly vanished.

Kaka scored 29 goals for Real Madrid during his four seasons at Real Madrid. Joining Real Madrid was a turning point in Kaka's life, but it didn't go in the desired way.
