Norwich City's return to the Premier League this season has not gone according to plan. The Canaries have struggled to keep up with the rest of the league and are currently 18th in the league. It is almost certain that they will be returning to the Championship at the end of the current season.

Like Southampton, Norwich also have an average squad of 25.3 years. Andrew Omobamidele, 19, is the youngest member of the Saints squad. Summer signings Billy Gilmour, Ozan Kabak, Josh Sargent, and Brandon Williams, who are all under 21, have been an integral part of Norwich’s squad this season.

Norwich City have won just four Premier League games so far and lost 15. Only Watford have lost more games (16). They face Liverpool twice in the span of 12 days next, first in the league and then in the 5th round of the FA Cup.

#2 Brentford - 25 years

Brentford announced themselves to the Premier League after promotion in spectacular fashion by beating Arsenal 2-0 on the opening day. Thomas Frank’s men are enterprising and great entertainers. Although the Bees have been inconsistent, they have managed to pull a few surprises this season.

The Bees have an average squad age of 25 years. 18-year-old Fin Stevens is Brentford’s youngest player. However, he has played in just four matches across all competitions this season. 22-year-old Bryan Mbuemo has been the Bees’ standout youngster this season. He has three goals and leads the club’s assists charts with three so far.

After an outstanding start to the Premier League season, Brentford seem to have run out of steam. The Bees have won just two out of their last 10 league games and are currently 14th in the league. They might end up lower, however, as they have played a few more games than the teams below them.

#1 Arsenal - 24.2 years

After a turbulent start to the Premier League season, Arsenal's ship seems to have steadied. The Gunners look like a much more solid outfit, especially in terms of defending. They have had a history of poor defensive performances, but this season has proven to be a revelation.

Arsenal boast the youngest squad in the league, with an average age of 24.2 years. Mikel Arteta has put his faith in his youngsters and it has worked miracles for the Gunners. Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, both 20, are the youngest members of Arsenal’s squad. The duo have been outstanding so far, with 10 goals and six assists between them in the league.

Emile Smith Rowe (21), Martin Odegaard (23), and Aaron Ramsdale (23) have also been standout performers. The two youngest teams in the league will be in action on Saturday, as the Gunners host Brentford. Arsenal are currently sixth in the league, but have played three fewer games than West Ham and Manchester United, who are above them.
