#7 Nemanja Vidic
Nemanja Vidic spent eight years at Old Trafford and during the majority of that period, he was among the best centre-backs in the world. His partnership with Rio Ferdinand was world-class and contributed immensely to United’s dominance in English football.
Ferguson signed Vidic from Spartak Moscow in 2006 and by the time he left United for Inter Milan in 2014, he had won five Premier Leagues and a Champions League with them.
Vidic was a great tackler and superb in the air. The Serbian had an intimidating presence in the penalty box and was a great man-marker. His anticipation and tackling made him win the Player of the Season award twice - which is no mean feat for a defender. He scored some vital goals with headers as well.
