9-year-old cancer survivor to be Wembley mascot?

Aston Villa v Bradford City - Capital One Cup Semi-Final Second Leg

The fans of Bradford City have come up with a Facebook campaign to make 9-year-old cancer survivor Jake Turton the Wembley mascot for the Capital One Cup Final.

The courageous kid was seen with Bradford skipper Gary Jones after their victory in the semi finals against Aston Villa.

The doctors had given up all hopes of the 9-year old’s survival but the boy managed to survive the life threatening tumour and is now ready to go see the match between his favourite team and Swansea. The ticket was sponsored by the Barclays Premier League.

The Facebook campaign is getting a lot of attention from the Bradford fans. More than 7000 fans have shown their support towards the campaign in order to make the young boy the mascot at Wembley. The campaign is called ‘Get Jake Turton to lead Bradford City out at Wembley’. It’s not only supported by the fans of Bradford but also by followers from Brazil.

Jake’s father Andy said, “Jake loved his big day at Bradford in the semi-final and we are still really grateful to the club that he was able to do that. At the moment, he is just looking forward to going to Wembley to watch his team.”
