Would Doucoure be a good addition to Liverpool's midfield?

Jurgen Klopp will look to revamp his engine room as he prepares for what he and the fans hope for a very successful campaign next season. The Reds will bring in Naby Keita from RB Leipzig and should Emre Can leave the club, they will no doubt delve into the transfer market once more. A double-pivot of Doucoure and Keita would cover so much ground.

The 24-year-old German international would need replacing, and should Liverpool decide to make a move for Doucoure, who has scored one more than Can, what exactly would they be getting from the player who wants a 'dream' move to Anfield?

The Frenchman, who made the £6 million move from Rennes to Watford in 2016, has played a pivotal role in helping his side stay clear of the drop. His stamina, powerful forward running and rocket of a shot make him a player in the mould of Emre Can and an effective successor.

His differing style and exciting profile is an attractive option for top European clubs with Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United interested, not just Jurgen Klopp's side. His concentration is also a key strength, and this has been evident in his performances on the pitch.

With seven goals for Javi Gracia's side, he is the Hornets' top goalscorer having scored in games against Jose Mourinho's Manchester United, Chelsea and in the 3-3 draw versus Liverpool on the opening weekend of the season.

With goals and a pass accuracy percentage of 83.5% from the 63 passes the deep-lying defensive midfielder averages per game, he would undoubtedly bolster the Reds midfield. The player himself has only missed one Premier League game that coming against Brighton in December.

He sits joint fourth alongside Swansea's Alfie Mawson for the most used player so far this season. The 25-year-old has won 67% of his 67 tackles and helped his team out at the back with 47 clearances and 44 interceptions.

Gracia would ideally like him to remain on Vicarage Road, but should Liverpool be prepared to pay the £40 million asking price, Watford maybe tempted in letting him depart this summer.
