Mario Balotelli faces an uncertain future at the San Siro

AC Milan have refuted suggestions that they have been trying to sell Mario Balotelli this summer, claiming that they will make no decisions on any players in the squad until they have appointed a permanent manager at the club.

Rumours had suggested that Milan were hawking the signature of Italian striker around in a bid to spark a bidding war, with Arsenal among the clubs offered Balotelli for £30million, with the belief that they are looking to use his sale to raise funds for their own summer shopping plans.

The former Manchester City forward has shown signs of being disgruntled at San Siro after a disappointing season in Serie A saw them miss out on European qualification altogether, and while club president Silvio Berlusconi did not rule out the potential sale of the Italian international, he was adamant that no decision had been taken on Balotelli’s future just yet.

Berlusconi told reporters in Italy, “Will Balotelli stay? We have not decided about the market yet, neither for signings or for sales.

“We are evaluating anyway, new players, but to take decisions, we must wait for the new coach.

“We have convened the board of directors of AC Milan and there we will decide who will be out new coach.”

Clarence Seedorf took over the club on an interim basis following the sacking of Massimiliano Allegri, but Pippo Inzaghi is widely expected to be named the new manager of the Italian giants.
