The result of such a collaboration has never disappointed in the past. We were always treated with the finest product that was a flawless picture of the two worlds.
Automobile giant Porsche has tied up with Adidas yet again. This is not the first time that these extraordinary German manufactures have come together. Last time they got together, they came up with an excellent running shoe. This time, they have entered the footballing world. Adidas and Porsche unveiled the Porsche Design Sport 16 FG (we agree, that is not an easy name to remember) on March 21, 2016.
The sport 16 football boot is set to represent the better of the two worlds. It brings together Porsche’s legendary 911 and Adidas’s Copa Mundial. Such a formula was always destined for greatness. How did it turnout?

Regarding the design, there is only one colorway up for grabs right now. The whole shoe is colored in black. We see metallic copper assents in the bottom-heel area. The sole comes in black too. Adidas’s iconic three stripes come in a deeper shade of black (Yes! Black again). Porsche Design branding is seen on the tongue and on the upper of the football boot. The upper has undergone a unique surface treatment, which replicates 911’s body finish in countless ways. The design highlights the finest in panache and meticulousness.
Even with only shades of black, this football boot is simply outstanding. Porsche Design Sport 16 is a modern classic.
Jacques Chassaing is Adidas’s Senior Design Director for Porsche Design Sport. This is what he had to say about the stunning design of the Sport 16. “Both brands have very similar values when it comes to creating each and every product. It is always about premium engineering to create the highest level of performance – whether that is on the pitch or on the road. This boot is a celebration of these values.”

Sport 16 outsole is very much similar to that of Adidas Messi 15.1. The dynamic stud pattern will deliver unmatched levels of traction on FG (Firm Ground) surfaces. The sole plate is also inspired from Messi 15.1.
“To create this product we used the same approach as building a car. We looked at the design to create the optimum bodywork, the technology to provide the engine and comfort for the interior.” Chassaing said.
As a part of Adidas’s limited collection pack, only a small number of Porsche Design 16 FG football boots will be available for purchase. This football boot retails at £230 i.e., around 23,000INR. If Adidas brings the Porsche Design Sport 16 FG football boot to India, it will surely be one of the most expensive sports shoes in the country.
