Rumour: Alexis Sanchez agrees £150k-a-week wage deal with Arsenal

Arsenal are on the verge of completing a deal for Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez after it emerged that he has agreed a deal worth £150,000-per -week with the London side.

Reports in Spain suggest that Sanchez has agreed a five-year deal which will double his salary at Barcelona.

Sanchez was one of Arsenal’s primary transfer targets this summer and now it looks as if they are about to close out a deal, after agreeing a fee with Barcelona last week.

The Gunners finished fourth in the Premier League last season but Arsene Wenger has accepted that the club need to spend in order to keep up with their rivals.

As well as Sanchez Arsenal are also tracking Mathieu Debuchy, Sami Khedira and Lars Bender as Wenger looks to try and mount a title challenge.

Sanchez was a key part of the Chile squad that entertained the World Cup but ultimately fell short against the hosts.
