Anderson: This season is very important to me

For many people, the upcoming season is make-or-break for Anderson. Anderson’s been treading on thin ice in regards to his United career and heading into the season injury free, Anderson knows he needs to prove himself properly once and for all. An exciting start that’s unfortunately tailed off for a number of years now means Anderson’s got to show what he’s capable of all over again – and in an interview with ManUtd.com, Anderson made it clear just how important this season is to him.

“I really want to show what I can do this season, produce my best and help the team.” the 24 year-old Brazilian said. Last year was injury-prone for the central midfielder but his lack of fitness and slightly too bulky physique apparently played a part in not being able to recover quickly from injuries. But, nevertheless, Anderson realises he needs to prove his worth to the fans all over again.“I need to prove what I can do. I know the boss and my team-mates believe in me, I’ve just had bad luck. I want to improve as much as I can and help the team win trophies.”

Asked whether he felt good about the start to pre-season Andererson reported that he felt good and enjoyed his holiday, with any flaring up of his leg injury. ”I feel good,” he said “I had a nice holiday and I’ve had no problem with my leg. This season it’s very important that I don’t have any more injuries.” A few years ago Anderson had a slight falling out with Sir Alex over lack of playing time but he’s remained steady over his want for regular football, saying “I just want to play. For me, this season is very important. I know I have to be very focused on my football.” He added “I’ll still have a laugh and a joke with my team-mates, but I know I must be really focused on my job.”
