One of F.C Barcelona’s most exciting youngsters Carles Alena spoke to Weloba in an interview. Barcelona B’s key player Alena told Weloba that Andres is the best Barcelona player for him and he hopes to play with his idol one day. “Iniesta is my idol, he’s spectacular, he’s the best player Barcelona has. He makes the difference,” said Alena.
At the age of 18, Alena is a very talented player for his age and has been a regular player for the B team. “I am very happy it’s me last year as a Juvenil player and I'm proud of playing for Barcelona B. It was a dream for me to play in this side and I'm making it come true. Now I have to adapt bit by bit to the level and try to play as much as possible, do everything the coach asks of me. We are working with the objective of reaching Segunda A” said Alena when asked about the B team.
The Barcelona B team have a bit of a poor few seasons as they have slumped back into the Segunda B division. Under Pep Guardiola, Barcelona B made their way back into the Segunda B division by winning the third division in 2007-08.

Under Luis Enrique, the team further made progress and they progressed to the Segunda Division A after an absence of 11 years. However, after finishing 22nd in the 2014-15 season, they are back to the Segunda B division.
Carles Alena made his debut for the senior team in the summer when Barcelona faced Celtic in a pre-season friendly game. The youngster impressed many showing the fantastic composure. Going forward, he looked dangerous as looked to make a few decent final passes.

Alena recognises his weak point as his defending and said: "My weak point is defending, it's tough for me as a more attacking player, but this is the time to work on it, I'm only 18 years old."
Barcelona B is currently having a good run as they sit on top of group 3 of the Segunda B with 15 points from 6 games. The Segunda B is made up of 80 teams divided into four groups of 20 and the winners of each group face each other in a playoff format. Teams that finish in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th position in each group will be drawn into a 12 team playoff format to fight for promotion into the Segunda A division.
