Angel Di Maria says Cristiano Ronaldo will not be making emotional Manchester United return

New Manchester United signing Angel Di Maria has said that he does not believe Old Trafford heartthrob Cristiano Ronaldo will be making a return to England. Di Maria feels that Ronaldo is enjoying himself at Real Madrid and does not see the Ballon d’Or nominee leaving the Spanish club.

Di Maria joined United in a £59.7 million deal from Ronaldo’s current club less than six months ago after helping the club to La Decima . Ronaldo made the switch in the opposite direction in 2009 for a world record fee at the time of £80 million.

The Argentine said, “I don't think he is coming back to Manchester. It's hard to quit Real Madrid.

“Maybe, but I think he's having a great time and I don't see that he wants to change.”

Di Maria’s views were echoed by Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes. He said, “Cristiano is very happy at Real Madrid and has always been very happy.

“He’s going to break all the records with Real Madrid and he’s going to retire here. He has a lot of love for United because his heart was there for six years, but now he’s only thinking about Real Madrid and he’s going to stay here forever. He’s incredibly happy.

“It’s one thing to respect the people who remember him but he’s with Madrid to the death. We didn’t receive any offers for him because people know that it’s impossible to take Cristiano from Real Madrid, therefore, it’s not worth it to even call and ask about him.”
