Another twist in Falcao age dispute

The controversy surrounding Radamel Falco’s age has brought another twist as a depiction of the striker’s birth certificate has surfaced and suggests he is in fact 27.

Earlier this week a Colombian reporter had raised questions whether Falcao was 27 or 29 years old ?

According to the documents produced by the primary school Falcao attended, he was born in 1984 and not in 1986, which meant that his actual age is 29 and not 27 – which is widely accepted.

However, in an attempt to back their national hero, Colombian newspaper El Tiempo released an image of Falcao’s birth certificate which shows the striker was born on February 10, 1986.

Though Falcao addressed the issue on Twitter on Wednesday, saying: ‘I have been surprised with stories in the media about my age. They are totally ridiculous.

‘I want to deny these claims and end this issue once and for all.’

The issue of his alleged birth certificate, may finally prove the £53m man’s innocence and allow him to settle into life at his new club.
