Arsenal just could not get more goals against Norwich

The fans’ frustration was once again evident as they saw their team have a majority of the possession, but without the end product. It was Norwich who had the better chances in the first half and the Gunners did not test keeper John Ruddy until the 59th minute when substitute Danny Welbeck scored the only goal with his side’s first shot on target.

Arsenal did force Ruddy into a couple of decent saves in the later stages, but the ruthlessness in the final third during the first half was terribly lacking. A club as big as Arsenal should be in a position to finish off relegation battling Norwich without having to leave it late.

Olivier Giroud drew a blank – his goalless run now stretching to 15 games. Wenger must invest in a world-class striker this summer if he has to win back the trust of some of the fans and show them that he still possesses the desire to bring back major silverware to the Emirates stadium.
