Swansea City

Lukasz Fabianski – 7

The former Arsenal player was playing at the Emirates where he spent seven years of her career. He was assured at the back, and could not do much to deny the Campbell goal as the half volley was struck beautifully. He was not tested enough by the Gunners.

Stephen Kingsley – 5

He did not have the best of games when he was making his debut. He was caught out of position on multiple occasions as Hector Bellerin caught him off guard.

Jordi Amat – 7

He had a good game and did not struggle in the latter stages of the game when Arsenal put pressure on the Swansea defence. He had his run-ins with the pacey attackers of Arsenal, luckily for him, it did not cause much trouble. He defended well against anything the home side threw at him.

Ashley Williams – 8

The Welshman had a fairly decent game. He coped up with the threat of Giroud and Campbell but found the winner for the Swans with 15 minutes remaining. He was solid at the back and was never really troubled.

Kyle Naughton – 7

The former Tottenham man was very impressive while going forward and with his speed, he made some darting runs on the flank. When going forward, he did not forget about his defensive duties and was present when required.

Jack Cork – 6

The defensive midfielder provided a great cover to the back four at all times. He did not have enough possession to affect the game, and produce chances for his teammates but he found Routledge with a gem of a ball during the first goal.

Leroy Fer – 6

He was missing on the ball throughout the game for Swansea. But whenever he touched the ball, it was a key touch. He worked tirelessly for the visitors and played a key role in the middle of the park.

Ki Sung-Yueng – 4

He was disappointing during the first half for Swansea as he gave away possession too often. He was rightly substituted at halftime by assistant coach Alan Curtis.

Wayne Routledge – 7

He was very efficient when he converted the through pass from Jack Cork into the equaliser for the Swans. But he could have given away silly free kicks and a penalty late in the game when he brought down Aaron Ramsey, but he was lucky to escape the crime scene without conceding a penalty.

André Ayew – 6

Apart from one chance throughout the game, the attacker could not provide anything to his side when going forward. The forward was assigned a left-sided role in midfield by his manager and did not fare well in attack but was very impressive defensively as he frustrated the likes of Ozil and Sanchez with his marking.

Bafetimbi Gomis – 5

The French striker led the attack for Swansea throughout the game but apart from holding the ball with his back towards goal, he could do nothing. As soon as he released the ball, the attacks broke down.

Substitutes

Gylfi Sigurðsson – 7

He showed why he is the centre of attraction for Swansea in midfield. He took the free-kick from which Williams scored the winner.

Jay Fulton – NA

The substitute came on in place of Leroy Fer and barely had time to make any impression.
