Arsenal ace prefers Manchester United over City

Portugal v Netherlands - Group B: UEFA EURO 2012

Want-away Arsenal forward, Robin van Persie has admitted that Manchester United is his favoured destination. The Netherlands international, who has attracted the interest of a number of top clubs lately, managed to notch up a highly impressive 30 goals in 38 English Premier League outings for the North Londoners last campaign.

Robin van Persie has refused to sign a new contract at the Emirates Stadium and his career with The Gunners is likely to end during the summer. The high flying Dutchman has been linked to numerous clubs in the past few months, including Barcelona. Juventus, Manchester City, Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Sir Alex Ferguson: “Obviously Arsenal have given out the fact that we have made a bid for Robin van Persie. We try to keep business as close as possible to us until the moment we conclude a deal. There’s no point talking about something that might not happen. There are other clubs interested in the player. We’ve shown an interest and that’s where we’re at at the moment.”
