Arsenal, in a bid to strengthen their defence following their recent defending woes, have decided to go for Real Madrid’s centre-back Raul Albiol in the coming summer bid.

The Spaniard quite inadvertently has lost the confidence of his employers after the arrivals of Varane, Pepe and Sergio Ramos. Sighting his not-so-good prospects in the team, he has finally decided to make a move.

Gritty Albiol is expected to bring some stability to the Arsenal defence. He is somebody who is believed to have the strength, skills, determination and speed needed for the job.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is particularly concerned about his team’s defending capabilities following their dismal outing in the Champions League.

Despite being armed with the experience of Thomas Vermaelen and Laurent Koscielny, they are looking for Albiol who could actually be able to marshal the resources better in their back-line.

Albiol is expected to play at the right back position with Bacary Sagna’s future looking bleak in the team. If he is signed, it will be like a homecoming for him as The Emirates already have Spaniards Mikel Arteta, Santi Cazorla and Nacho Monreal at their service.
