Rumour: Arsenal and Liverpool target Guillermo Ochoa will decide future after World Cup

Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa admits he is still unsure where his future lies and will decide his next destination after the World Cup.

Ochoa has been linked with a move to Arsenal and Liverpool, with both Premier League sides interested in taking the 28-year-old on board. His eye-catching performances for the national side at this summers World Cup – especially against host nation Brazil, has alerted a number of clubs to his availability, including Barcelona.

Ochoa is a free agent after his contract with French outfit Ajaccio expired and is set to sign for a new club this summer. Ochoa has been tipped to make a move to the Premier League, however, with Monaco also keeping tabs Ochoa admitted recently he would prefer to stay in Ligue 1.

However, Ochoa now says that he has not made his mind up regarding his future and will assess his options after the World Cup.

Ochoa told reporters: “I am not worried about what is being said about where I could continue my career, my agent takes care of those things.

“I am staying calm, as there are options and there is a lot of time for analysing which is the best.”

Ochoa’s agent, Jorge Berlanga, said: “I have spoken with Barcelona, yes, in the same way that I have done with 20 other teams.

“I spoke about the possibility of Memo, I offered him to Barcelona, that is true.”

Berlanga continued: “The match that Memo played against Brazil changed everything because the World Cup shows you to the whole world.

“We will keep on having conversations with the teams that we were already in touch with, but we will also listen to those that have started to approach me now.”
