Rumour: Arsenal are looking at Uchida to replace Bacary Sagna

London club Arsenal are looking at replacements for the right back position as Bacary Sagna is all set to join Manchester City this summer. Toulouse’s Aurier and Juanfran of Atletico Madrid are the prime targets, but a new name has made it way to the British media.

According to various reports, Arsene Wenger has ordered his scouts to monitor Schalke’s Japanese 26 year old right back Atsuto Uchida. The Japanese international has huge experience playing for his country and the player will be a perfect replacement for Sagna in the Gunner’s back line.

The North London giants will be looking for a signing soon as Sagna is really close to joining Manchester City on a £120,000-a-week contract as soon as he becomes a free agent. Arsenal are watching French youngster Serge Aurier of Toulouse, but it is understood that the deal is not sure to go through.

This has resulted into a wider search for the Gunner scouts who are looking into the Bundesliga for options and has also suggested a move for Spanish defender Juanfran who was rumoured to be their target last season.
