Arsenal - Barcelona - Cesc Fabregas Saga rolls on

Those were the best days of my life!

In what has proven to be one of the most boring and stretched transfer tussles of all times, Barcelona and Arsenal are still fighting tooth and nail to get a taste of Fabregas.

After verbally abusing and assaulting each other with mile-long tirades rolling from both sections, it’s now understood that Barcelona have reserved their famed No. 4 jersey to crown their new Matador. Earlier, Wenger was left shaking with rage after Xavi doubted Arsenal’s credentials as title-contenders and pleaded with Fabregas to set his foot aboard the luxury liner of Barcelona and end his “suffering” at Emirates. The French Professor was reaching the end of his wits at this shameful pursuit of his skipper by his boyhood club and was left bemused by the conundrum surrounding Cesc’s future.

“I cannot comment on every comment [involving Fabregas]. What is important is Cesc has a contract with Arsenal, and we want to keep him.”

“A mutual respect should stand between the two clubs”, the manager said.”If it is true it’s very disrespectful and it’s not the first time Xavi has been very disrespectful towards Arsenal.”

Well, true that Professor! If the Spanish Armada was not wagging its tail enough, the Politicians have joined the rally to bring Fabregas home. The mayor of Arenys de Munt, Fabregas’ hometown, has even waded in, accusing the Gunners of “kidnapping” the Spanish midfielder.

Politician Estanislao Fors said: “It is necessary to behave well and stop this. This is like a kidnapping and they must let him go.”Well, apparently having a contract with a club and respecting that is a crime in Spain and Arsenal may be facing a lawsuit for abduction anytime, now. With such immature and pathetic pursuing of Cesc, Barcelona are steeling the resolve of Wenger to not sell his star midfielder to the stalkers from Camp Nou, and Xavi has just added fuel to the inferno.

With the mutual respect at an all-time low, this deal may turn out to be a landmark one for the world of football. But after rejecting two bids from Blaugranas, Arsenal are expecting a final bid from Barcelona to put an end to this ill-conceived battle between the clubs. The Camp Nou stalkers are pretty convinced of landing their man and have reserved the jersey worn by Pep Guardiola. Fabregas idolises Guardiola and Barcelona are luring him with every trick possible, as mature as it may be.

Arsenal are currently on their pre-season tour in Asia and a final judgement on this issue is believed to be postponed till their return. Till then, enjoy the two felines fighting over their ultimate crumb, until it perishes.
