Arsenal board: Arsene Wenger will have money to spend on players

Arsene Wenger has money to spend this summer.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will have the money to spend in the summer transfer market according to Arsenal’s director Lord Harris of Peckham.

Harris also said the board will fully back him to spend the money and help him get the required players to the North London club. Wenger had already made one big signing last summer by signing German attacker Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid for a fee of £42 million.

Lord Harris said, "We want to win the Premier League and the Champions League. If we buy two or three players then I think we can,"

"We want to win. We don't want to be second, we don't want to be third and we don't want to be fourth.

"We will support Arsene with the players he wants to buy. He has always been encouraged to spend."

"There is a lot of paper talk. I wouldn't say it is £100m, I wouldn't say it's £50m and I wouldn't say it's £150m.

"If Arsene has asked for any player then we have always backed him to go and buy. With the exception of Messi, Ronaldo or Bale, we could buy most players."

Arsenal are linked with many players from the La Liga league this time, with French winger Antonie Griezmann topping their wish list. Returns are expected from Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas and Real Sociedad striker Carlos Vela. Arsenal are also further linked with two Real Madrid strikers – Karim Benzema and Alavaro Morata.
