Arsenal have once again been linked to Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema as Arsene Wenger finally looks to secure a deal for his compatriot.

The North London club have been chasing Benzema for a few windows as their search for a world-class striker goes on. This summer Wenger could make another move with a £30 million move set to happen according to reports from the Express.

The Frenchman enjoyed one of his better seasons at the Bernabeu this season, he has provided the perfect foil for Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale whilst still netting 17 times in the league himself.

He’s also created 62 chances along the way but he is far from being the main man for Madrid, the chance to do so for Arsenal could be tempting.

With Real Madrid being consistently linked to Liverpool forward Luis Suarez Wenger clearly believes that the opportunity is there to sign Benzema if first team football cannot be guaranteed. Manchester United are another club rumoured to be interesting in signing Benzema.

Benzema, 26, only has one year left on his deal with the Spanish giants and if he is unwilling to sign a new deal Madrid could look to cash in on him.

It is highly likely that he will be fighting it out with Olivier Giroud for a starting spot in France’s World Cup team and they could be fighting over a club spot next season.
