Watford have completed the loan signing of out of favour Arsenal forward Park Chu-Young until the end of the season.

The 28-year-old has been frozen out of the first team picture at the Emirates by Arsene Wenger. Now, with no route back into The Frenchman’s plans on the horizon, Park has decided to seek game time elsewhere by dropping down a division into the Championship.

Watford are struggling under boss Giuseppe Sannino, who took over from Gianfranco Zola earlier in the season, but could yet mount a play-off challenge and will benefit from the introduction of a new recruit with international experience.

The experienced South Korean joined Arsenal from Monaco in 2011, infamously walking out on his medical with Ligue 1 outfit to head to North London.

However, he failed to make an impact and was shipped out to La Liga side Celta Vigo where he made over 20 appearances. The Spaniards were reportedly keen to secure a permanent deal for the forward but a move could not be completed.

Having returned to North London and attempted to force his way into Wenger’s plans Park appears to have finally given up and looks unlikely to stay with The Gunners past the end of the season.
