Reports: Arsenal plan swoop for Juventus’ Arturo Vidal and Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is planning a sensational swoop for Chilean duo Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal, according to the Telegraph.

The Gunners boss has failed to make an impact on the transfer market this summer and despite being embroiled in talks for various players, Wenger has failed to recruit anyone to the club.

However, there are now reports that Alexis Sanchez, a target for Liverpool, could be joining the north London outfit along with Juventus midfield orchestrator Arturo Vidal.

Vidal has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United and Louis van Gaal has identified the Chilean midfielder as one who could help solve the clubs midfield woes, along new signing Ander Herrera.

Vidal is being sought-after by other clubs and one of those is Arsenal, who are keen to bring the midfielder for a fee in the region of £40 million – meeting Juventus’ demands.

Meanwhile, Alexis Sanchez has been in talks with Liverpool over a possible deal that could see Luis Suarez go the other way. However, Arsenal have been hovering over and Wenger is to launch a £22 million bid for the striker as he looks to bolster his options, despite Barcelona holding out for £30 million.
