Arsenal are on quite a run

Given the presence of millions of fans in India, it has become a sort of tradition for English Football clubs to express their greetings on the occasion of Indian festivals and Arsenal chipped in with their greetings to their Indian fans yesterday by uploading a video on their Social Media page yesterday wishing the Indian masses on the occasion of the festival of lights, Diwali.

The club has a strong fan base in India and that was acknowledged by former Gunners player and legend Robert Pires recently and the efforts of the club to reach out to the masses of the country evokes warm emotions.

The video, featuring the likes of Mesut Ozil, Granit Xhaka, Aaron Ramsey and Alexis Sanchez in an illuminated setting and on a groovy Indian background score sent out their wishes on the occasion of the festival. The video can be seen below-

After a rather disappointing start to the season, when they lost to rivals Liverpool at home, Arsenal have been flying high in the current season and currently sit in the 2nd spot in the Premier League table, behind Manchester City only on goal difference and ahead of Liverpool on goal difference.

The likes of Sanchez and Ozil have been instrumental in the Gunners rapid rise to the top of the Premier League table and alongside Theo Walcott have provided their fans with multiple reasons to smile in the season gone by.

While they might still be struggling defensively, having conceded the 2nd highest goals after Liverpool amongst the teams that occupy the top 6 spot in the League table, their attack has been phenomenal and has been constantly threatening the opposition defence with their link-up play, movement, and clinical finishing.

Their imperious performances have caught the imagination of millions of football fans worldwide, with many fans and pundits even going on to claim that the current side looks like a unit that could end the club’s decade-long Premier League title drought.

While Arsene Wenger and his men continue to play down their chances of winning the title so early in the season, there is no doubting the fact that the momentum is with them and should they continue the way they have in the recent wins, they could surely be in contention for the title.

The Gunners have won 7 out their last 8 games, scoring an incredible 20 goals and were not able to find the back of the net on only 1 occasion against Middlesbrough. The side faces Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Bournemouth, West Ham and Stoke City in their next 5 league outings and will need to tread carefully or they could tumble down the Premier League table.

However, given their performances and the troubles of most of the sides they are going to face, despite their reputation, Arsenal will be confident of eking out positive results in the coming weeks.
