Arsenal's predicted line-up for the North-London derby

Arsenal v Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League
Arsenal won the first encounter between these sides back in November

The North-London derby is one of the most anticipated matches in modern football and it suffices to say that the rivalry has become even more intense since Tottenham Hotspur have become direct rivals for Arsenal under the management of Mauricio Pochettino.

Spurs find themselves four points clear of Arsenal in the table going into the final part of the season and will be looking to extend their advantage at every possible opportunity. On the other hand, it's a crucial match for the Gunners whose top-four ambitions will be more or less crushed if they return with anything but a win. Hence, Arsenal need to give it their best shot by putting out a great side. The Gunners are expected to line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation with the following players.

Goalkeeper

Nottingham Forest v Arsenal - The Emirates FA Cup Third Round

David Ospina is expected to take Petr Cech's place

David Ospina

Petr Cech was forced off by an injury during the 5-1 thumping of Everton last week and Wenger's comments about his availability in the pre-match press conference were not very convincing. Ospina is expected to take his place in goal and is no doubt a worthy replacement for Cech.

Defence

Swansea City v Arsenal - Premier League
Monreal is having the best season of his Arsenal career

Hector Bellerin (Right-back)

Hector Bellerin is a sure shot name on the team sheet with the club not having another recognized right-back in the squad. The Spaniard has been showing glimpses of his immense talent this season and at just 22 years of age, he is sure to improve.

Shkodran Mustafi (Centre-back)

Shkodran Mustafi is expected to slot in at centre-back this weekend. The German international scored in the reverse fixture back in November and will be hoping to do the same at Wembley. Mustafi has been solid but sometimes inconsistent with his performances since arriving at the Emirates last summer and will be trying to iron it out in the future.

Laurent Koscielny (Centre-back)

Laurent Koscielny has been a mainstay at centre-back for a better part of the decade at Arsenal and the same is expected at Wembley this week. He has been one the Premier League's best defenders ever since Arsene Wenger brought him from French side Lorient. He has taken part in many North-London derbies over the years and the atmosphere won't be alien to him at all.

Nacho Monreal (Left-back)

Nacho Monreal is having the best season of his career and it's safe to say that he is in his prime at the moment. The 31-year-old has managed to push new signing Sead Kolasinac to the bench. The Spanish international has bagged 4 goals this season which is an outstanding number for a defender and will be an extra threat in front of goal for Arsenal.

Midfield

Arsenal v Everton - Premier League
Aaron Ramsey scored his first ever hat-trick in the previous match against Everton

Granit Xhaka (Central midfielder)

Granit Xhaka has been enduring a frustrating season so far this campaign and was recently subject to a lot of criticism on social media. However, he has started in every Arsenal game this season which reaffirms Wenger's faith in him. The Swiss ace will be looking to prove his haters wrong and what better opportunity than the North-London derby to win over fans.

Aaron Ramsey (Central midfielder)

Contrary to his partner Granit Xhaka's form, Aaron Ramsey has been arguably Arsenal's best player this season. The Welshman has been a constant threat going forward this campaign and has added six goals to his name. He scored his first career hat-trick last week against Everton and will be looking to get more goals under his belt. He has previously scored against Spurs away too, so the defenders will be wary of him.

Mesut Ozil (Central attacking midfielder)

Mesut Ozil has been in scintillating form this season, dictating play from the midfield. Although his goal and assist tally of late does not show it, Ozil is definitely amongst the best midfielders in the Premier League at the moment. The German recently signed a contract extension till 2021 and Arsenal fans will be hoping that his new £350,000 per week wages will be worth it.

Jack Wilshere (Right attacking midfielder)

Jack Wilshere has shown glimpses of his previous form with Arsenal this season after an injury obstructed career. Many thought his Arsenal days were behind him when he was loaned to Bournemouth last campaign but he has truly resurrected his career. He is known to be a staunch Arsenal fan since childhood and will be pumped up for the North-London derby.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan (Left attacking midfielder)

Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be playing in his first North-London derby this weekend after he moved from Manchester United in a swap deal involving Alexis Sanchez. The Armenian will be pumped for sure and will be trying his best to please Arsenal fans. The 29-year-old grabbed a hat-trick of assists last week against Everton and will be pleased if he can emulate the same again.

Forward

Arsenal v Everton - Premier League
Aubameyang will be making his North-London derby debut

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Striker)

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is Arsenal's record signing and moved from Borrusia Dortmund last month. Like his former teammate, Mkhitaryan, the Gabon international will be playing in his first North-London derby. Aubameyang has previously enjoyed playing against Tottenham and has scored four goals in four matches against them. The most recent being in the 2-1 loss for Dortmund in November. The 28-year-old will be eager to continue this streak.
