Tottenham Hotspur has been one of the top sides in the English Premier League for close to three seasons and despite the setback against their bitter rivals in the North London derby last Saturday, they remain in line for a title challenge.

Arsenal, on the other hand, has an excellent squad and have generally underachieved considering the sort of players they have at their disposal. When things click, they often look unstoppable and last Saturday was probably one of those days.

Arsenal is currently 1 point behind Spurs and would like to use the derby win as a springboard for an assault on the title.

Combined Xis have been made and re-made over the past few weeks, but what is just as interesting is to see which players from either side could end up being perfect additions to the other side.

#5 Toby Alderweireld (Spurs)

Arsenal's central defence is a bit thin when one comes to think of it.

Per Mertesacker is no longer a regular player and although he can come up with top class performances when called upon (FA Cup final against Chelsea last year, for instance), he is still only a fallback option these days.

German defender Shkodran Mustafi is really the only quality partner for Frenchman Laurent Koscielny and beyond that, the club has Rob Holding, who is still prone to errors.

Hence, the presence of a central defender of the caliber of Spurs' Belgian defender Toby Alderweireld would be a good addition to the Arsenal squad and with Koscielny, he would probably go on to form one of the best defensive combinations in the league.

According to football statistics website Squawka, Alderweireld had a total performance score of 701 in the 2016-17 season, while other than Koscielny (998) none of the Arsenal defenders come close.

Alderweireld's team-mate Jan Vertonghen has a score of 1050.

#4 Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal)

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has forged one of the best teams in the league which plays with an energy and speed that often sees them finish teams off early on in games.

The attack is sublime, the defence is rock solid but it is the midfield that is often seen as an area of concern.

For all his industrious play, Eric Dier cannot quite square up with the best central midfielders in the game and Moussa Sissoko is a hugely inconsistent player, who is not quite cut out for the big games.

That leaves only Mousa Dembele as the central midfield engine in the squad and quite often, it might not be enough.

Which is why the addition to Arsenal's Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey could completely change the face of their midfield. Ramsey is one of the most hardworking players in the league and in addition to that he makes superb runs into the box that often sees him in goalscoring situations.

For instance, in the derby game against Spurs last Saturday, Ramsey ran the opposition midfield ragged as he covered 12.72 kilometers in the game, the highest for any Arsenal player.

With Dembele able to carry the ball through midfield and Ramsey making those runs into the box, it could turn out to be a devastating midfield combination.

#3 Hector Bellerin (Arsenal)

The speed of Hector Bellerin will help restore the pace that Kyle Walker's exit has taken from the team

Kyle Walker's £50m move to Manchester City in the summer saw Spurs losing out on one of the best right wing backs in the league and so far, the Englishman has justified his price tag in Pep Guardiola's marauding attack.

However, if one had followed the transfer window, he would have noticed that Guardiola's rumoured first choice for that role was fellow Catalan and Arsenal's right wing back Hector Bellerin.

Bellerin is a right back who has everything in his game that one would expect from a wingback these days. He is incredibly quick, can read the game well and has the energy to run up and down the pitch for the whole 90 minutes.

Additionally, having started off his career as a winger, he is very good in the attacking half of the pitch as well and is an outstanding attacking outlet.

In that regard, he is better than the current Spurs right backs Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier and would definitely make the North London club a far more fearsome prospect.

#2 Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal)

Arsenal's Chilean wide forward Alexis Sanchez has been one of the English Premier League's best attacking talents ever since he moved to North London from Barcelona three years ago.

He has netted 55 times in the league for Arsenal and remains the league's preeminent forward.

Sanchez can play both as a wide forward and a centre-forward, which makes him a particularly compelling prospect for any team in the league. Sanchez is an all-action footballer, who can take on players, dribble past them and make something out of nothing.

On top of that, although he is often accused of being 'selfish', he has the ability to make the killer pass when he does want it and these are a skill set that is often missing from the Spurs attackers. Eriksen can make the killer pass but falls short in the other attributes.

In fact, his rumoured move to Manchester City this summer would have been perfect for the player and club but the move broke down at the last moment.

Now, such a cutting-edge talent in the Spurs attack will make it difficult to contain and although Dele Alli is an excellent young player, he is not quite as good as Sanchez can be on such a regular basis.

One can even go as far as to say that Sanchez will complete the Spurs attacking line up and can be the player who can win them games on his own when they find it difficult to break down particularly defensive sides which is a malaise that has affected Spurs this season.

#1 Harry Kane (Spurs)

Kane would be the answer to all of Arsenal's prayers
Kane would be the answer to all of Arsenal's prayers

The English Premier League's best striker had been at the Arsenal youth academy as an eight-year-old and his departure from that set up remains one of Arsenal's big misses.

Kane has been the top scorer in the Premier League for two seasons running, having scored 29 goals last season and 25 in the season before that.

He is someone who can be called the complete number 9 due to the way in which he is not only capable of scoring goals from even half chances but can bring other attackers into play as well by attracting most of the defenders towards him.

In fact, this season has seen a marked improvement in his roving movement around the box and Kane is now far more prepared to take potshots at goal from distance, something he is learning to get better at.

On the other hand, Arsenal has struggled to fill the void left by Dutchman Robin van Persie in 2012 and only this season, they finally brought in French striker Alexandre Lacazette to fix that gaping hole in the side.

However, Harry Kane is among the top strikers in Europe at the moment and considering the fact that he is still only 24 years old, he has not even reached his peak as a footballer.

Harry Kane in that Arsenal line up with Ozil and Sanchez besides him is a frightening prospect and there is no doubt that he would be a perfect addition to the attacking roster at the Emirates Stadium.
